Ajay Tyagi, Managing Partner of a boutique law firm. Has worked in several jurisdictions, specializes on cross border transactions and masters the skills of negotiations and cultural aspects of international business.
 Ajay has successfully structured and executed transactions pertaining to establishing startup businesses in India (domestic and international), which include joint ventures and/ or corporate takeovers in infrastructure, infrastructure, beverage, real estate, hospitality, healthcare, information technology and banking sectors of the economy.
 Besides structuring and executing transactions, Ajay also specializes in competition law, arbitration, and legal audit and compliances of the complex Indian ecosystem. He has also advised businesses on day-to-day management and administrative challenges for doing business in India.
 Formerly worked as General Counsel of Vipul Limited (heading legal and commercial departments), a leading publicly listed infrastructure & real estate company in early 2000’s in India. As general counsel accomplished and achieved acquisition of land for infrastructure projects & townships all over India; bidding for Delhi Metro and other infrastructure projects across the Country; procured zoning and licensing for projects in different parts of the country; oversaw procurement of funds, execution of transactions and delivery of projects; structured, negotiated and executed commercial leasing of BTS (build to suit) facilities; completed and developed project documents pertaining to housing, commercial and industrial projects; and supervised and managed litigation of the company all over India.
 As Partner and Head of Corporate Practice Group (for law firm) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Ajay successfully executed and completed transactions relating to the privatization of public sector undertakings; project financing; electricity generation projects; infrastructure projects (cement, oil, natural gas); and international joint ventures and acquisitions in Bangladesh.
 Besides, infrastructure and real estate projects, Ajay successfully set up private equity funds for investments in infrastructure and real estate market of India. Ajay specializes in structuring deals for joint-ventures, acquisitions and take-over of infrastructure and real estate projects in India (or abroad).
 Registered as practicing Advocate under provisions of The Advocates Act, 1961, India and is also licensed as Foreign Legal Consultant in the State of New York (under provisions of Part 521 Rules of the Court of Appeals for the Licensing of Legal Consultants). Presently is a member of The Supreme Court Bar Association, Delhi High Court Bar Associations, New York City Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Has delivered lectures on business laws and legal environment for doing business in India to M.B.A. students in India (2009 – 2010).
 Ajay is presently pursuing PhD at Indian International University of Legal Education & Research, with specialization in ‘Real Estate Laws & Title Insurance in India’. Ajay has completed studies in law and management from India, USA and UK. Ajay did his LL.M. (2012) from Fordham University School of Law (New York, NY) with specialization on International Business and Trade Laws; Master’s in Business Administration (1997) from Lancaster University (United Kingdom) with a specialization on International Business & Alliances; The LL.M. degree in International and Commercial Laws (1996) University of Buckingham (United Kingdom). Ajay also completed his LL.B. (1994) and B.Com (Honors) (1987) from University of Delhi (India). Has also attended Continuing Legal Education Program on Negotiation (2006) at Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA.
